Cambridge AICE Exams and College Credits
Both Cambridge AS and A Levels are considered college level courses of study, and students passing these examinations with a Cambridge grade of E or higher may receive college credit or advanced standing based on their scores in these examinations from universities throughout the United States and all public universities and colleges in Florida.  
Please note that each US university sets its own policy and students are advised to directly contact the admissions office at the university of interest to learn its credit by examination policy for International AS and A Levels which are also known as “Cambridge AICE” exams. College credit is typically awarded based on each subject and examination grade earned.

AICE Curriculum and Bright Futures
Students who earn a Cambridge AICE diploma, based on Cambridge AICE exams taken prior to high school graduation, complete the community service requirement, and submit their Florida Financial Aid Application will be eligible to earn the Florida Academic Scholars award. 

AICE Courses at RHS
The Cambridge AICE Diploma involves the selection of subjects from three curriculum areas – Mathematics and Science; Languages; Arts and Humanities from a wide range of subjects available at International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level and Advanced (A) Levels as well as the completion of AS Level Global Perspectives and Research.

An A Level counts as 2 credits toward the 7 needed to earn an AICE Diploma and an AS Level as 1 credit toward the 7 needed to earn an AICE Diploma.  To be considered for an AICE Diploma, a candidate must earn the equivalent of 7 credits by passing a combination of examinations at either the AS Level or A Level, with at least one course coming from each of the three curriculum areas and one being AS Level Global Perspectives and Research. The examinations are administered in May/June sessions each year.  

• Required for all AICE Diploma Recipients: AS Level Global Perspectives and Research

• Group 1 (Mathematics and Science): Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Management, Information Technology, Marine Science, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology

• Group 2 (Languages):  English Language, Spanish Language

• Group 3 (Arts and Humanities):   Art & Design, Business, Drama, European and U.S. History, English Literature, Music, Psychology, Sociology

• Group 4: (Optional - students are not required to take these courses.  A maximum of 2 points can be used towards 7 needed for the diploma): English General Paper, Thinking Skills
